Tony,

Just wanted to let you know that the ECM I purchased for my 2004 Deuce works great! I had a power commander and replaced it with the Zippers ECM mapped for V&H staggered shortshots. The Zippers ECM performs so much better than the power commander. The upgrade in performance is unbelievable (like night and day). My friends were amazed that your ECM made such drastic results - I was too. Look forward to purchasing your other products when I begin my motor work! Thanks Again!

Hi Pete,

Just a note to say thank you ever so much for all your help, and for a great product.

I installed the Thundermax EFI Controller on Friday afternoon June 3rd, and without a doubt it has to be the best thing since sliced bread. All kidding aside. I'm finding that my Ultra has never run correctly since I had the modifications done to it. As you know my dealer had installed the H.D. EFI Race tuner, saying that this would cure my problems; but it only made them worse, and then the dealer didn't have a remedy or a solution for it. As you are aware from my e-mail and talking to my wife Michele, I was at wits end. Until I happened across your ad in the June issue of Thunder Press and sent you the email detailing what I had done to the bike, and your response to that e-mail and your willingness to explain the many different questions to Michele who in turned told me. Then we purchased your product. Wanted to tell you I had the dealer take the Race fueler out and when I rode it home the pinging and the back firing were back.

And now for a few comments on your product; the ease of installation was a breeze, the hardest part was removing the seat and disconnecting the battery. The directions were very concise and straight forward. After the installation came the moment of truth, The throttle response is simply amazing, and it doesn't seem to matter which gear you happen to be in, it just responds. No pinging, no backfiring no matter if your riding double and deliberately lug the engine. It has not done much for the engine temperature , but then both days were in the high 80's and humid. So we'll wait and see on that issue. I have noticed a drop in gas mileage but its hard to have an accurate baseline as prior to this install I had the HD race fueler in it the bike was getting about 175 to 180 mile on the tank prior to the fuel warning light coming on. The first tank of gas with the Thundermax installed I got 35.11 MPG, will wait and see on this as well. Because I'm finding out that I'm not so sure this bike has ever performed correctly since all the modifications I have done since it was new in 2002. But one thing I am sure of now is that since I installed your product the engine sounds and runs so much better, the cold idle is smoother, when cruising along in 6th gear at 70 to 75 MPH the exhaust tone is deep and rich and the engine sounds like it is running effortlessly, and the throttle seems much crisper and responds to every little nuance no matter how small. It just seems to run better throughout the entire range from idle to full on throttle response.

You were correct - I did notice the difference in about 15 minutes and kept noticing for the 200 miles we put on the bike. Will keep you informed as to progress. We have a great test in mind Michele and I are leaving July 29th for Colorado then Wyoming, then to Sturgis then on to North Dakota into Canada then back home to Maine. Will let you know how the bike and your product performs. Thank you again for your great product.

Hi Pete, how are you?

I just came back from a trip throu southern Spain, it is wery similar to Arizona or Utah...I rode 4500 miles and I have to say one thing: bike runs really really good even when we had air temperature of about 42-45 degrees celcius and an altitude range of 9000fts (beach--sierra nevada 3200mts altitude difference)! I just wanted to let you know that I am really happy...but know I realize that I want also a big bore, throttle body and a headwork done on my bike...next winter.

Thank you have a nice summer. Cheers, P.M., Giubiasco, Switzerland

With the install of Zipper's 120 muscle engine my 01 Screamin Eagle Road Glide absolutely smokes all current SE bikes that are hitting the road even today! I set out to create a "sleeper" and with help from Zipper's that's exactly what I ended up with. For all you guys riding dressers imagine the look on your buddies faces when you hit the gas and with everything right you go from first gear to second with only the rear tire on the asphalt. More than once people have told me that seeing a dresser launch riding on one wheel is absolutely kick*#*! Thanks Guys!

Hey Pete, how goes it? I just wanted to say thanks again for the awesome Thundermax EFI controller. I had my doubts at first when I walked over to your tent and started looking at the Thundermax. In my mind I was trying to compare it to the Power Commander. After talking with you and having the EFI controller installed on the bike and riding all weekend I must say by far this is the best buy I have bought for my Road King. The Thundermax has made a real difference in the way my bike runs. Thanks for your help. I tell all my friends about the EFI controller so look out for phone calls.

Pete, Got my Thunder Max installed. Bought it with the map for a Hi flow air cleaner and Rhine Hart true dual pipes. It worked great for my 2005 Road King Custom with Screaming Eagle Air Cleaner, and Vance and Hines True Duels and stock mufflers with baffles taken out. It is like a new machine. No pinging, and popping, like with the stock harley ECU and stage one load. I love this Thunder Max, I can slow up in top gear and hit it with no Pinging and acceleration is much better. Checked my plugs, they are burning great, Dont even know if I need to make a trip to the Dyno. Now I just hope I can find some sucker to buy my stock ECU.

Gentleman: I am not going to sit here and reiterate what other testimonials on your website attest to, even though what they attest to is NO BS.

What I am gong to Attest to is that I have been riding and tinkering with motorcycles for 32 years most of which are or were Harley Davidsons. I ride my bikes in a certain manner, as we all have our own way and style in which we ride. My 04 FLHTCI could not be ridden in the manner of which I am accustomed to. I have been back to the dealer time after time with the same answers. Nothing is wrong. After a year of talking and researching products on the market, I made the call to Zippers.

So We spoke about my issues. You guys took the time and explained your product in specific detail. What to expect, methods of support. So I ordered a Thundermax ECM programed for my model bike and exhaust system. 22 hours later it was at my door. Went into the garage to do the install. I started the bike took it for a short ride in the rain to warm it up, came back home as I was drying the bike off to do the install, i started the bike up and noticed the first 4 to six inches of the exhaust system was glowing orange. I sat and watched it get hotter and hotter, So i picked up the phone and called the dealer, they told me to bring it by and they would look at it. So needless to say I did not install the Thundermax ECM.

The next day I took the bike in to the dealer after about four hours of testing on the bike they told me that head temps are in normal range, the ECM has the correct download and there are no intake leaks. The service manager ask if I could leave the bike there and try to figure out why the exhaust system is glowing orange.

As I talked with the service manager I told him about the Thundermax ECM I just purchased and Its in my tourpack. He said lets take a look at it. I took it out and handed it to him his first remark was that he was impressed with the quality of the Thundermax ECM as he held it in his hand and studied it. We talked a bit, then I asked him if it would hurt anything if it was installed at this time. He said lets ask the head mechanic, we talked with him he felt it would not hurt anything at this time.

He called over another mechanic and asked him to install the Thunder Max in my bike. The install took about 15 minutes. He started the bike let it idle for a few and said go take it for a test ride. As soon as I let off the clutch I felt a noticeable difference.

The smoothness of the engine, throttle response, no backfire, even shifting became smoother. I drove back in to the service area and felt that even finding neutral to be easier. We then let it idle for 10 minutes, the glowing of the exhaust was gone. The next day I put on about 150 miles on the bike. I cant tell you how impressed I am with the Thunder max ECM.

I have put on a lot of performance products on my bikes over the years, but Nothing comes close to the Thundermax ECM. When you put a product on the market that works beyond the expectations of a customer, It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out that Zippers Have spent a lot of time and money in researching and development on the Thundermax ECM and the guys at Zippers have a deep passion for motorcycle performance.

Thank you Zippers, it is guys like you who keep my passion for riding.

I purchased your Zipper's ThunderMax Magnetti Marelli conversion kit and have just gone over the 1,000 mile mark with the new system. I cannot thank you enough for the improvements that this system has provided for my bike.

My bike is a 1999 R. K. with a S. E. 95" big bore, 203 cams and Bassani True Dual pipes. It's a great bike in every respect except for the old MM throttle body and ECM. Prior to purchasing the Zipper's EFI, I had tried everything including the latest USB Power Commander and a few trips to a Dyno tuner to try and get it right. My last dyno tuner said the old Magnetti Marelli system just has some inherit problems and that's why Harley Davidson scrapped them after a few years.

With the old Marelli system I experienced erratic idle, deceleration popping, and very quick, uncomfortable deceleration when I let up on the throttle. I was at my wits end and had even considered selling the bike.

Fortunately, I came across an article in Hot Bike magazine that reviewed your Magnetti Marelli conversion kit and showed how easy it was to do the installation. The magazine gave it rave reviews so I called your tech support line to see if the system would solve my problems.

Installation was a breeze. I did have to remove the tank, but with the Harley manual and Zipper's instructions, I was able to get the job done in 6 hours.

In a nutshell, Zipper's conversion kit turned my bike into a whole new machine!

1. Deceleration popping is gone!
2. Deceleration is smooth, just like when you let up on the gas pedal in your car.
3. Idle is rock solid steady. Best of all, with the single barrel throttle body, I get the classic Harley loping idle. With the Marelli dual barrel throttle body, my bike's idle sounded like a car.
4. Finally, with the larger 50mm throttle body, I'm getting much better performance. My bike pulls hard and fast, and I'm still getting 40 MPG!

I could not be happier with the product and the technical support that Zipper's has provided!

Pete,

I received the ThunderMax (TM) yesterday and got it installed.

WOW, WOW, WOW.

I cannot believe the difference. Not that I was anxious to install it, but I spent an hour in 100+ heat to install it. It was the best hour I have spent on my bike so far…

I took it out and ran it under the normal conditions I had tried before.

In town, I no longer have to keep it (my bike) in a lower gear to keep the RPM up past 2600 (to keep it from lugging and to get good throttle response)! I can now cruise around as low as around 1700 RPM and still have excellent throttle response. No more flat spots after 5800 RPM, either. Now it pulls strong all the way to 6200 RPM!

Cruising down the highway at 70MPH, I now roll on the throttle and get a nice gentle push back in the seat - before it just would labor unless I downshifted.

Now when I get off the throttle (no matter if it is on the highway, coming off an off ramp or slowing down for a stop light) no more rumbling and backfiring! Just a nice purr! The exhaust even sounds totally different.

Before the plugs where white - I mean white as a new piece of paper! Now, well you already know the story, a nice light tan both front and back.

Am I happy? You bet I am, and this is only after just getting back from 50 miles in 94 degree heat. I am sure it is only going to get better.

Now, will I suggest the TM to others? "Hell Yes".

Will I be getting the update or the closed loop system when you announce it? "Hell Yes".

Will I be looking at other products that Zippers has?? "Absolutely."

Thank You for a great product and your help in getting a TM for my setup in a short period of time.
